As a certified Microsoft Small Business Specialist, The Uptime Group offers the finest technology solutions
to our clients and have an immediate need for a well-qualified MCSE (or other MCP designation) to work as
a consultant to small- and medium-sized businesses in the Denver, Colorado metro area. Our wide range of
clients offer the right candidate a chance to work with many different technologies and environments. From
standard break/fix to more extensive projects, this position provides the opportunity to apply your
extensive skill sets and make a difference in the efficiency and growth for numerous organizations.
Qualifications:
MCSE or other MCP designation preferred
Minimum five years of information technology experience (tech support, help desk, systems administration, network administration, etc.)
Minimum of three years network administration experience in a Windows Server environment
Minimum of three years experience maintaining a trouble ticket queue as a technician, or working within a break/fix environment.
Experience installing, troubleshooting and restoring Microsoft Exchange.
Ability to efficiently and effectively diagnose and repair PC, server, and network connectivity issues.
Experience with all types of PC hardware including desktops, laptops, scanners, printers and many other commonly used peripheral devices.
Experience documenting technical work in a business environment (technical writing, network diagramming/flowcharting)
Experience developing and providing technology purchase recommendations to end-users.
Familiarity with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server System, Exchange2000-2007, MOM/SMS, SQL2000-2005
Ability to support a range of Microsoft operating systems and software (Windows2000-Vista, Office2000-2007)
Ability to maintain assigned work as well as assigned projects for multiple clients at one time.
Basic network design and troubleshooting experience in a business environment
Knowledge of Internet technologies and how they work (e.g., e-mail, web serving, FTP)
Familiarity with backup technologies (e.g., Symantec, CA, Veritas, etc.)
Familiarity with antivirus, malware, spyware solutions (e.g., Symantec, AVG, Norton, etc.)
Familiarity with antispam solutions
Plusses include:
Knowledge of additional Microsoft topics: DOS, Windows9x, CRM, Dynamics, SharePoint, WSUS, ISS
VoIP Technology (including TAPI integration with CRM)
KixStart, batch scripting, simple VB scripting
Disaster recovery planning/implementing in a Windows environment
Visio and SmartDraw skills
